About The Author

Pablo Jacobo

Pablo grew up under the vast California sky, spending his childhood summers laboring in the heat and dust of the Fairfield-Green Valley and Napa Valley picking fruit shoulder to shoulder with his six siblings. The land shaped his calloused hands, taught him the rhythm of early mornings and hard work. At nineteen, everything changed. During the Vietnam War, the Army drafted him, pulling him from the rows of grapes and peaches he knew by heart and thrusting him into the new world, training him not to harvest but to help heal as a combat medic. Fueled by that spark, after his honorable discharge from the Army, he traded his Army uniform for textbooks. He soon earned a BS in human biology then his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of California San Francisco.

Pablo went from working the farm fields to wearing the U.S. Army uniform, and that journey changed him and inspired him as well.  In Warriors Without Borders, he writes about many young men like himself–farmworkers who put their lives on the line for a country that rarely treated them as equals.  These aren’t just old war stories.

About The Book

WARRIORS WITHOUT BORDERS
44 MEXICAN AMERICAN MEDAL OF HONOR HEROES

What does serving a country that hasn’t always served you back mean?

This book tells the stories of American soldiers you’ve likely never heard about-heroes who risked everything, yet remain invisible in the pages of mainstream history. For the first time, the courage and sacrifice of the 44 Mexican American Medal of Honor recipients are assembled in one book.

Their stories have been overlooked for too long. It’s time to read their names, hear their voices, and understand the legacy they left behind.

What makes this book different is the soul. Pablo doesn’t just battles-he uncovers the men behind the Medal of Honor, their faith, their families, and the words that shaped them. This isn’t sanitized history, isn’t alive and urgent, a reminder of why the Medal of Honor matters. If you’re tired of history that skips the real people this is your antidote. It’s raw, honest and deeply human, you won’t just know more-you’ll feel more.
